Prosthesis & Allograft Reconstruction
When a bone is damaged or removed due to trauma, tumor, or infection, it doesn’t always mean limb loss. Through Prosthesis and Allograft Reconstruction, we can restore the limb’s structure and function—offering a new lease on life for patients who’ve undergone complex bone surgeries.
Dr. Jyoti Prakash specializes in using both metallic prosthetic implants and biological allografts (donor bone) to reconstruct large bone defects after tumor removal, fracture non-unions, or failed surgeries—while preserving the limb and maximizing mobility.
🦴 What is Prosthesis & Allograft Reconstruction?
Prosthesis Reconstruction: Use of custom-designed artificial metallic implants to replace large sections of removed bone (commonly used after tumor surgeries or joint destruction).
Allograft Reconstruction: Use of sterilized donor bone to biologically reconstruct missing segments, especially in younger or growing patients.
🩺 Indications for Reconstruction:
After tumor (bone cancer) removal
Severe bone loss after trauma or infection
Failed previous surgeries or implants
Complex limb salvage cases
